Greece… I’m facing taxing times

This week a Greek documentary was screened at the Great Hall of the Hellenic Centre. Greece… I’m facing taxing timesis a full-length documentary by the director Serafeim Ntousias. The theme of the documentary is the effect of the economic crisis on the youth and it aims to give young people a voice by interviewing people living in Greece and the UK. It is not a financial documentary but a documentary about Greece seen through the eyes of Greeks living and studying abroad.

The documentary also features interviews with Nigel Farage, member of the European Parliament for South England, Liana Kanelli, member of the Greek Parliament with the Greek Communist Party, composer Thanos Mikroutsikos, journalist Sia Kosioni and Spyros Limnaios, a member of the London Occupy movement, among others.

Narrated by Lakis Lazopoulos & Katia Dandoulaki, the documentary was the official selection at the 14th International Documentary Festival of Thessaloniki this year.

The documentary has already been shown in Athens, Thessaloniki and other cities in Greece and in London.

The next screening wil take place at the Department of Journalism and Mass Media Communication of the University of Thessaloniki at 6pm on June 1.
